What you will learn
Each class builds on the last — they are designed in order and act as prerequisites for one another. Multiple time slots are available to fit your schedule.
Class 1
The Pinch Pot
Start your clay journey with the oldest hand-building technique. You will learn how to center, open, and shape clay using only your hands to create a beautiful pinch pot. This foundational class sets the stage for everything that follows.

Class 2
Coil Pots
Build upward! Using long ropes of clay called coils, you will construct a vessel with walls, learning how to score, slip, and blend seams for a strong, smooth finish. A great technique for adding height and texture to your work.

Class 3
Molds, Texture & Play
Explore slump and hump molds to create consistent, beautiful forms — then make them uniquely yours with stamps, carving, and texture tools. This class is all about discovering your personal style in clay.

Class 4
Building, Joining & Clean-Up
Bring it all together! Learn how to build and join clay slabs and forms, and master the art of leather-hard clean-up — refining edges, smoothing surfaces, and finishing your pieces like a pro.

Every piece you make in the Clayhouse Series goes through our full kiln process — glazed, fired, and finished. By the end of the series you will have five completely finished ceramic pieces made special by you, ready to use or display at home.

Once you graduate the Clayhouse Series, the studio is yours to use anytime we are open. Simply purchase your wet clay by the pound, find a station, use all of our tools and supplies, and create whatever your hands dream up.
No class required. No extra fees. Just you and the clay.
Good to know
Do I need experience?
None at all! The Clayhouse Series starts from the very beginning. All skill levels are welcome.
Are the classes in order?
Yes — each class builds on the last and acts as a prerequisite. Start with Class 1 and work your way through.
Can I pay as I go?
Absolutely. Each class is $50 and you are welcome to pay one at a time. Purchase all four upfront and save $50.
What is included?
Everything — clay, tools, glazing, and kiln firing. No studio fee, no hidden costs. Just show up and create.
What happens after I graduate?
The Clayhouse is yours! Graduates are welcome to come in and create during any of our operating hours. Just buy your wet clay by the pound, grab a station, and use all of our supplies freely.
